Our Commitment to a Greener Future

At Topcliffe Primary School, sustainability is not an add on. It is a core part of who we are and how we prepare our pupils for the future. Our community recognises that children deserve clean air, access to nature, healthy food, and a safe climate, and we are committed to embedding these values across our curriculum, school environment, and daily routines.

As stated in our action plan, “Academies cover a range of environmental issues in the curriculum” and we are strengthening this further through partnerships, pupil leadership, and whole school initiatives. We see sustainability as a prominent priority because:

• It empowers pupils to become responsible global citizens.

• It supports wellbeing through nature, outdoor learning, and healthy living.

• It prepares children for the growing world of green careers.

• It reduces our environmental impact and models positive behaviour for our community.

Our Sustainability & Climate Action Plan outlines how we will achieve meaningful change over the next two years.
